![]() ![]() She doesn't start crying until after the kids leave. She tells Ed not to give up their quest - that would make her husband's death meaningless. He apologizes for gettin Hughes mixed up in it, but Gracia says that's just the way he was - he's been getting in trouble for helping others as long as she knew him. Inside, Winry is comforting Elicia, and Ed proceeds to unload the whole story on her and Gracia - their bodies, the Philosopher's Stones, the whole works. Al also says that if it means people are going to die, he doesn't need to have his body back. When they finally make it there, Ed tries to shoulder all the blame, but Al says they're in this together. He's frantically running, trying to catch up to Winry - too late though, as she's already made her way to the Hughes house with a basket of apples. Yeah, Mustang was right about Ed blaming himself for Hughes getting killed. Eventually, they work through all the mutual misunderstandings, and the truth comes out. Meanwhile, Ed and Al realize that they have to go find Winry, and then bump into Lt. Hawkeye and Mustang get into a discussion about treating the Elrics like kids, and Mustang eventually admits to being as big a softie as Armstrong. Ed says they're hoping to talk to Hughes, and Mustang gives them a bullshit story about Hughes retiring to the country with his family. Mustang opines that he's on the cusp of figuring out who killed Hughes, and Armstrong warns him to be careful.Įd and Al run into Hawkeye in the hallway, and Ed is displeased at the realization that Mustang must be close by. Mustang gives the Major some crap about not telling the kids about Hughes's death, then gets a little more blunt about Hughes - he stuck his nose into the Elrics's search for the Philosopher's Stone and learned something he shouldn't have, isn't that right, Major? It would hurt the brothers to know that Hughes got killed for trying to help them. They inquire after each other's health, and Armstrong mentions seeing the Elrics in Dublith. Mustang is shaving and cleaning himself up in the bathroom when SUDDENLY, ARMSTRONG. A quick-change gets him past the preoccupied FOcker, who moves on and says hello to a completely confused Sheska. As he heads down the hall, he sees.himself approaching. FOcker tells her not to worry and to get back to work, then walks off. One of Sheska's bosses asks her what Mustang was doing there - she's a terrible liar and eventually lets it out that he was looking into Hughes's death and the 5th Laboratory. He's looking kind of scruffy as he wakes up and heads off to a meeting. Inside HQ, Sheska is covering for Roy, who's crashing inside one of the court-martial document storage rooms. They just ran right past the phone booth. This episode is just going to hurt, isn't it? Ed and Al, for their part, want to meet up with Hughes and tell him about the Homunculus thing. Fu and Lan Fan are still looking for him, while the kids split up - Ed and Al head off to military HQ, while Winry wants to go to the Hughes place first and visit with Gracia and Elicia. Some cops find him.and then drag him off to jail for being an illegal alien. Havoc does have some good news though - he has a new girlfriend!!! For some reason, this does not improve Falman's mood.Įlsewhere, Ling has passed out in the street again. Mustang has apparently given Falman the assignment to keep Barry out of sight - Falman is not enjoying his job at the moment. ![]() He's holed up, playing chess with Barry, who is bored and wants to go out chopping. It's for.Falman? Is this his place? Man, the military doesn't pay well. Havoc pulls up to a decrepit old building, with a basket of food. ![]() And he hasn't even met Armstrong yet! Title card! There's something weird about this country, he thinks. Ling, it turns out, is on top of a building, staring out over the city. Ed decides that this is Not His Problem, and leaves the ninjas to their searching. Ling, on the other hand.has ditched them.
